Reynolds Proves Yesterday was No Fluke as Bulls Bite Back

Red Bull drivers, Will Brown and Broc Feeney, started Friday a lot better than they began on Thursday. The Bulls finished sixth and 13th on Thursday, and with minutes to go in Friday’s session, both were struggling.

However both saved their best for last, Feeney’s run was his best of the weekend to date, crossing the line in 5th, his time a 1:19: 820. Feeney would finish the session seventh as others improved around him.

Not to be outdone, Will Brown put his Camaro fifth, with a time of 1:19:772. Brown’s time was nearly five hundreds better than Feeney’s.

With the circuit quickening, nearly everyone was improving. Of those that finished inside the top ten, Cameron Waters, (second), Ryan Wood (fourth), Brodie Kostecki, (sixth), and Andre Heimgartner, (eighth), all set their best laps on the last attempt along with both Red Bull drivers.

Earlier in the session, Matthew Payne became the first driver on Friday afternoon into the 1:19s, he set a 1:19:8852, nearly two tenths slower than Courtney’s time on Thursday, but still a fantastic start to his afternoon.

After finishing second in Thursday’s practice, David Reynolds found the fastest time of the weekend, his 1:19:480 blitz both Courtney’s and Payne’s times as car 20’s excellent weekend continued.

No one was able to better that lap, although Mustang pair Chaz Mostert and Cameron Waters got close, both with-in 2 tenths of Reynolds’ lap.

After finishing top on Thursday, James Courtney’s best time was only good enough for 14th, his 15th and final lap recording his best time of a 1:20:036.

After getting the call up for Jack Le Brocq, who made the decision late last night to fly home for the birth of his first child, Cooper Murray would finish his first practice session in 17th.

The Melbourne born driver has secured a full time drive with Erebus next year, granted it will be alongside Le Brocq, not instead of him.

The sister Erebus car is being vacated by reigning champion Brodie Kostecki as he moves to across to Dick Johnson Racing for 2025.

This weekend will hold the 21-year-old Murray in good stead for next year, as he prepares to make the jump to the main game.

The Supercars hit the track at 5:30 Adelaide time for qualifying.
