O’Brien Revival as Ruck Roller-Coaster Continues at West Lakes

Reilly O’Brien or Kieran Strachan? That’s the question at West Lakes

Adelaide Crows ruckman, Reilly O’Brien, has been left out of the team in recent weeks, in favour of Strachan. However O’Brien, after being arguably the Crows best against Woodville-West Torrens in the SANFL, is a chance at a recall to the senior team.

“There’s obviously questions around why Rob is not in the team,” Nicks began on Saturday night, post-Sydney loss.

“Kieran [Strachan] deserves his opportunity and we’re giving him that. He came against arguably the best ruck in the competition. [It’s] a great lesson.”

“We’ll continue to look at what our best line-up is, Reilly’s working on a few things back there [in the SANFL].

“[Strachan] is currently playing in the side. [Against GWS] it could be an opportunity to look at two rucks.”

“There are lots of different things that are affected if you do go that way [a two ruck system]. If Rob [Reilly O’Brien'] put his hand up, says, “I’m ready to go,” we’ll make that decision.”

The Crows clash with the Giants Saturday week at the Adelaide Oval, the game starting at 7pm.
