“Port Supporters Don’t Have Many Teeth” - Rachele’s Comments Set Scene for Saturday Showdown

It was the comment that left Port fans pulling out their teeth.

Crows star Josh Rachele made sure that there was no love lost between Port and the Crows when he spoke on FIVEAA ahead of Saturday’s massive clash.

Port coach, Ken Hinkley, was very quick to shut down any comments around the Crows star, simply stating that he “doesn’t care.”

Meanwhile, Crows coach, Matty Nicks, was quick to remind everyone that the talking will be done on the field;

“I think it’s been shown that the result comes off the way you perform after you cross that white line,” Nicks began.

“There’s always a lot of theatre around the Showdown, but ultimately it’s down to the team that comes and turns out on the night.”

Nicks went on to say that the comments will add to the atmosphere and that he didn’t believe Rachele said anything with any malicious intent.

“I think we are going to have an atmosphere at the stadium because I’ve been within the four walls of Port Adelaide for eight years, and I know how passionate the fans are.

“It’s gonna be a cracking atmosphere, and maybe that’s on the back of some comments.

“I don’t think he was trying to target fans, I think when our guys do media that they sit in a studio for 20 minutes and some things are taken out of context.”

One thing is for certain, the Port fans will let Rachele know exactly what they think when he runs out to do battle at 7pm on Saturday night.
