Dear Mum and Dad
Dear Mum and Dad
I know we’ve upset you before
And I know you’ve been our age before, but it seems you’ve forgotten so lemme give you a tour
Times change
Things aren’t what they used to be
I know that’s how you used to see
I know the things we do may seem strange
But you gotta get used to it now
We are young and wild
Deep in your hearts I know you too are still a child
Remember the good from your childhood years?
The stuff you’d do with or without your peers
What I’m asking is give us a chance to have fun too
Give us a chance to let loose!
Dear Mum and Dad
You need to realise your children are sad
Give us a chance to live life
Let us go out with the wildlife!
If we say we don’t want you to do something
Don’t do it!
Letting us out more to have fun will stop most of the judging
I don’t want you to ride my skateboard
It’s my property
I’m so thankful for your generosity
I’m sorry if I haven’t acted like I’m thankful
Sorry I’ve taken everything for granted
Look at this from our angle
We’ve never had the poorer side so we don’t pay attention to our advantage
All we ask is your respect
We don’t need to be triple checked
Respect our choices
Respect our wanderlust
Trust us to not yet pick our poisons
Trust us to not fall into dust
Sincerely, your children
